Akasa Air to launch services on Visakhapatnam-Bengaluru route

Akasa Air has unveiled its upcoming service to Visakhapatnam from Bengaluru, set to commence on December 10. This marks the airline’s 10th destination since its launch in August this year. Recently, the city-based carrier also announced increased connectivity between Pune and Bengaluru with double daily flights from November 26, along with a third frequency on the route starting December 10.

Responding to growing demand, Akasa Air is enhancing connectivity between Bengaluru and Ahmedabad by introducing a third frequency from December 17. The airline plans to launch two daily flights on the Bengaluru-Visakhapatnam route, with the first frequency starting on December 10 and the second on December 12.

With these additions, Akasa will provide 24 daily non-stop flights from Bengaluru, connecting to eight cities: Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Delhi, Chennai, Kochi, Guwahati, Pune, and Visakhapatnam. Out of the 10 destinations, eight are linked directly to Bengaluru.

Akasa Air is actively expanding its operations, aiming to surpass 450 weekly flights on a total of fourteen routes across 10 cities by mid-December. Praveen Iyer, Co-founder and Chief Commercial Officer of Akasa Air, expressed, “We are including Visakhapatnam as our fourth major destination in South India, offering twice daily Bengaluru-Visakhapatnam-Bengaluru flights. Additionally, we are reinforcing our connectivity with one more frequency on both the high-demand Bengaluru-Ahmedabad and the debut Bengaluru-Pune routes.”
